Salsa Thursdays at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom
June 10 @ 6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Hey Salsa Friends,
I know that in the Tampa Bay area there are many Salsa venues, some free and some at a minimal cost. At the Gulfport Casino Ballroom there is 5500 sq. ft. of wooden dance floor. Enough room to social distance and enough room to dance your heart away. Every Thursday at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom we are offering group workshops for Beginners and Intermediate/Advance people that are interested in either learning Salsa for the first time or adding to their repertoire. My event is full of wonderful and fun loving people that want to not only learn but enjoy learning and having fun doing it. I have several dancers that will help you if needed, dance with you to practice what you learned and we’re all there to help you understand, learn and enjoy the dance.
At the Gulfport Casino Ballroom you can now pay with a credit card, debit card or cash the admission fee which is $10.00. There is a bar in the Casino that only serves beer, wine, soda and water for the time being. In the future it will be a full service bar selling the hard liquors and mixed drinks. The Gulfport Casino Ballroom has renovated the bathroom facilities and it has a new coat of paint, the dance floor has been refinished along with several other enmities. Right now it’s a soft opening and masks are not required but they are encouraged if you are not vaccinated.
Workshops start at 6:30 pm and end at 8 pm. This week we’re doing something a little different than last week. From 6:30 to 7 pm it will be a Beginner workshop that includes learning the basics. From 7 to 8 pm the workshop will include Beginner and Intermediate/Advance workshop. My goal is not to make a dancer out of you but to give to basic skill to be able to learn and execute moves that are universal to be able to dance with anyone and any style. At 8 pm the music starts and runs until 11 pm, if there are still people dancing.
Last week was awesome and each week I’d like to make it better. We need more men to partner up and dance with the available ladies. At most events there are always more ladies than men so I’m hoping this week we have more people attending the Salsa event and I hope to have a DJ and possibly a band in the near future.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support because without you I couldn’t do what I love so much.
