SALSA RHYTHMS GROUNDWORK 8:00 – 9:00
Forget On1 or On2! – this unique workshop will have you locking in on CLAVE. the crucial “key” (as in “cipher”) that gives sense to salsa’s polyrhythms. All the instruments lock into it – conga, bass, keys, bongo, timbales, bell. When you internalize clave you are working from the same foundation as the musicians, and feel supported also by their melodies, and their once-surprising breaks, & even solos. If you are ready to move beyond 123-567 to seek solid rhythmic inspiration for your movement, you are ready for this class.
