Zouk for Bachata Dancers Bootcamp

ZOUK FOR BACHATA DANCERS:
Julie will be offering a Zouk for Bachata Dancers bootcamp (no not BachaZouk). Whether you are a Bachazouk fan or not, the purpose of this class is to serve every bachata dancer and the cultural dances that have been fused together very often without honoring the origin of both dance styles and those that created them. Furthermore, when we see two dance styles being blended together without proper context, this doesn’t qualify as fusion. We’re actually diluting the dance styles and as a result diluting the technique required to safely execute these moves on the dancefloor.
This class is for anyone that is a bachata dancer (with minimal to no zouk experience) so we can have a deeper understanding of what is Zouk, how is it being integrated in bachata, and how can we learn as both leads and follows some of the fundamentals and movement to ensure that we are protecting ourselves and others from injury in social dance settings while simultaneously honoring the places these dance styles come from.
We already had a successful Zouk for bachata dancers workshop and plan to go even deeper into zouk concepts across two days of training:
